  1. There is NO magic workout – Just move, and move consistently
  2. There is NO secret Diet – Simply Choose to control food and not let it control you
  3. Understanding WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST and WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE because of Him, are the most powerful tools you have to take control of your health and life.

The 3 Basic Principles you need to know to take control of your health and your life.

It is a great day to have a great day!  Ye baby!

Since this is my first post in a little while, I think it is very appropriate to go over our basics again for taking control of our health and lives.  So here goes:

#1 Spirit – Realize that God loves you.  Know that He already put everything inside of you to literally Win in your health and your life.  No everything is not going to go perfect.  Yes you will face adversity.  Yet in the midst of it, He created you and empowered you to overcome and to Win.

#2 Soul- God equipped you will a very powerful tool that when used properly, it can literally steer your life in the direction you truly want it to go: your MIND.  God gave you your Mind so that You can choose to control it and “Renew” it to His truths about you and who you are In ‘Christ. With this renewed Mind you can choose to think and learn to expect and choose to walk in His Faith.  Also, He gave you a tongue that He says has the power of life and death.  So choose life!  Speak Life.  Use your mind and your mouth to steer your health and your life in a positive direction.

#3 Body- this is the Nutrition and Exercise part.  Keep it simple.  Do not overcomplicate things.  Like you have heard me say a bazillion times: Just do the “right” things you already know to do, and this alone can help you to literally change your health and life in a major way”!  Control Food and dont let food control you.  DO NOT worry or try to be perfect.  It aint gonna work.  Just focus on doing better each day.  Be careful about putting yourself under “law” when it comes to food (I cant eat this, and I have to eat that).  It usually doesnt end well.  The Word tells you: It is the law that gives sin its strength.

And just find a way to MOVE.  It may be walking, biking, working out at the gym, etc.  And remember that yes absolutely, 5 or 6 or 7 minutes of working out does do good.  And a lot of good, I guarantee you!

There you have it.  Some simple, yet most powerful principles to remember and to live by.  Now GET ON IT DOG’ON IT!


Spirit, Soul, Body. More “real”, Scientifically based health & life info

Great day today to have a great day!  Ye baby!

My wife and I just returned from an awesome vacation on the beach.  We “relaxed” so much my back and butt are sore!!  A whole lot of laying around will do that.  Anyway we had a great time.  And wow how blessed we are to be able to do it.  Thank you Lord!!

My wonderful mother in law sent me a video of a talk show where Dr. Leaf (one of my favorite scientists and authors now) was featured.  You have heard me refer to her lately and even though some of this is repetetive, please read it anyway.  Remember, one of my main objectives here on is to help you to literally take control of your health and life, and live out the best life you can as God has designed it for you personally.  And lately we have been discussing a lot on the “Soul” part of the health equation: Spirit Soul and Body.

Here are some of my take aways:

God tells us specifically in His Word: I have put before you life and death, blessings and cursings. Now Choose LIFE! (kj’s version, Deutoronomy 30:19)  God gives us choice.  And it is clear He wants us to literally choose LIFE.  This is His design for us.  He loves us, and part of true Love is giving free will.  His love is true.

Science shows –

  1. Our Mind controls our brain.  Our thinking controls our body.

2. We are designed (by HIM) to be positive thinking beings.  When we think negatively, it actually causes problems.  We are literally “wired” to think good, expect good, and do good, no matter what the circumstanceds are, and no matter what our past is.

3. What we think on the most will literally grow (physical structures in our brains) and bring “life or death” in our on health and lives.

4. We are literally wired for Love, and for optimism.

Dr. Leaf responded something along these lines when asked what was the difference between this type of “life changing” teaching and the majority of most “self help” teachings we have seen over the last several years: The biggest difference is they are promoting parts of the spirit soul and body Biblical principles, but they are leaving out the source, and they are teaching more about self focus.  True Spirit Soul and Body Biblical focuses on the truth that HE is the source and creator that makes all this possible.  And it is only as we choose to focus on him, pray, and worship Him that we can truly tap into His process for taking control of our lives.  And His way puts a major focus on serving and helping others.  Any other “program” that leaves these fundamental principles out can produce short term results, but they will not last.

And there you have it.  I expect this info will help you.  ‘And I am excited to keep bringing you more health and life changing info as we grow together in this.  Ye baby!  Get on it dog’on it!



The absolute best Healthy Life System! Hands Down.

This morning I was discussing with one of my clients about the SPIRIT, SOUL, BODY approach to taking control of our health and lives.  In short, here is what we reviewed:

Spirit – we are spirit being people.  Our spirit is the foundation of who we are.  It is the “real” us.  In our spirit, through Jesus Christ, lies all the faith, love, joy, peace, and ability we will ever need to take control of our health and lives.

Soul- This is our mind will and emotions.  This is kind of like our filter.  This to a large extent is going to be what determines how our lives go.  Even though we have all we will ever need to succeed in our health and lives on the inside (our Spirit), if our Filter (mind will & emotions) are not allowing the truth of who we are to come out, we will likely never see the true fullness of who God made us.  All the faith power love and ability is still there, yet we often never get to experience it in our own personal lives because of not choosing to literally do as the word says to “Renew our Mind to the Word”.

Body- This is simply our physical body.  Our body to a large extent is simply what our Soul tells it and or allows it to be.  If you think and believe you are out of shape, overweight, low energy, cant control food, hate exercise, have poor genetics, etc, then that is pretty much what you will continually see in your life.

This life is a tough one sometimes.  We all face adversity.  And no matter how much you understand and get control of the Biblical process of Spirit, Soul, & Body, you still will face adverse circumstances.  Yet through Christ, and RENEWING your Mind to His Word and Promises, you can literally take control of your health and life and start eperiencing more of His Best for you!

Are you making IT harder than it really is?!! That is the question I want you consider.  And the “It” can be any thing in your life that you are working towards and or using as a means to improve your health and life.

Many times in our health and life endeavors, we make things a lot harder than they really are and or need to be.  Take for instance Nutrition, or Diet.  We all know that this is a key component to improving our health and experiencing weight and body fat loss.  Over the years I have heard something along these lines many many times: “Well I am going to go on such and such diet, and I know it is going to really help me to lose weight and get control of my health.  BUT!!!, man it sure is going to be hard.  I mean I am going to do it, but dang I know it is going to be so hard.  And I am going to stick it out, but man oh man I just know how hard it is going to be.  I mean I know I am going to be hungry all the time.  I surely cant eat anything I want to.  I am going to have to eat a bunch of stuff I dont like.  And dang when I go our with friends it is going to be so tough to resist the “good” foods.  Dang I know it is going to be tough, but I am going to do it, and blah blah blah……”

You ever said anything like that?  Most of us have to some degree.  And the huge problem and Mistake that is made here is that we end up making the whole thing a whole lot harder than it really should be.  A lot of life really does come done to how you “see” things.  And how you see things, therefore “Think On” things goes on in your mind most of the time.  Remember the Mind is that part of the Soul that God gave us, along with our Will and Emotions.  And He gave us those so that we would take control of them and use them to produce GOOD in our health and lives.  So one KEY FACTOR in being successful in health and life endeavors is to make sure and literally NOT MAKE SOMETHING HARDER THAN IT REALLY IS!!  No I am not saying that it is going to be easy, yet truly in many cases ME and You make it a lot harder than it ever had to be.  The main issue with MAKING THINGS HARDER THAN THEY SHOULD BE, is that in most cases, you end up quitting and never seeing through with your initial good intentions.  Therefore you fail at taking control of your health and life.  And like my good ole buddy William says: “That aint what You want!”





July 4th Indepedance Day Celebration Tips for better Health & Life!

Man The Johnson’s had a great week at the beach last week, and now we are excited about an awesome July 4th, Independance Day celebration tomorrow.  Here are a few tips for you to think on during our Nation’s great day of celebration for Freedom:

Thank God almighty for the blessing of living in the great USA.

Be Thankful for all the men and women that did, and do serve our country to help keep us FREE!

Have FUN.

Laugh – remember laughter is good medicine for you mentally and physically

Eat some good food – the whole while with the full intent to still be IN CONTROL of food, even if it is simply on the portion part.

Think Good Thoughts – of course think good and Thankful thoughts for the blessings mentioned above.  Also go ahead and think about how awesome this week is going to be with how great you are going to do with taking control of your health and life.

Speak great words – Speak great words of encouragement to others and yourself.

Be Excited – get excited about your life and the fact that you are blessed to be a blessing.  Then go be one!

Train yourself to be and do what you dream – literally take hold of mind will and emotions, and train them to think, speak, and do what God has already put inside you!


More GOOD News for “Your Life” of Better Health and Life

The above 2 statements go cross grain to what most of us have been taught for many years now.  We mostly have been taught that we can work hard and do our best, but when it comes down to it we are severely limited by our genetics and DNA.  We all have heard also that what we think on can impact our lives and our health, yet I dont think most people realize just how much of an impact their thought lives do have, and CAN HAVE on their health and lives.

Here at God-Built we have pushed this fact and truth (as we believe it to be) as one of our foundational principles for taking control of ones health and life.  Now we didnt dream this up or think this up on our own of course.  This has been a fact that has been taught by many leading scientists for many years.  but the main reason we have taught this is because it is simply a true principle of God from His Word.

God teaches us that we are not victims, but through Christ we are victors, and literally “more than conquerors”.  He says that we are “as we think we are”.  And He tells us to “take captive every thought and imagination that comes to us”.  Then we literally can and will choose whether or not we allow ourselves to think on those thoughts.  He says to “think only on those things that are true, kind, noble, of good report, etc”.  He literally tells us to “not worry”, and to “Be Thankful”.  This is all from His Word.

There is tremendous power we have available to us through our thought life.  Our thought life will either hinder our health and life, or it will help to improve it.  And that is all up to each person.  You personallly have a say so in your health and your life.  as we all know, you can not control every thing that happens to you and around you, yet you can control your reaction to it.  By your reaction to stress, trajedy, adverstiy, you will determine your health and life.

My sincere suggestion to you is to understand that in every situation in your life, no matter where you are at in your health and any other area of life, you do have a choice as to how you respond with your thoughts, your words, and of course your actions.  Remember though your actions will not be consistently the Right ones if your thinking is not right.  Your thoughts actually produce measureable, physical change in the body.  This is scientifically proven.  And these physical changes determined by your thoughts will determine to a large extent your health.

The statement God gave me so many years back as a “slogan” for God-Built is becoming more and more real to me: ‘YOUR HEALTH, YOUR LIFE, YOUR CHOICE”  God bless u kj


Why Your Diet IS NOT Working!

It is a great day, today, to have a great day!  So we are!

Nutrition.  Eating Right. Dieting.  Healthy Eating.  All these terms are ones that many really hate to see and hear!  In all my years of health and life coaching, I have come to see that there is a huge “mental block” and usually very perverted outlook and or “idea” when it comes to eating healthy for improved health.  Here are some of the wrong ideas and statements I have heard over the years:

  • Well I “have to” just eat better.
  • I want to eat better, but it is going to be so hard.
  • Eating better just cost so much money, and I CANT afford it.
  • I am going to eat better, but I know it is going to be hard.  But I know I can do it.
  • Well I am starting a good healthy eating plan, so that just means I “have to” eat all the things that taste bad, and I “can’t” eat anything that tastes good.
  • Oh ye, eating healthy is easy: If it tastes good, spit it out!
  • Well I want to eat better but it is just so hard when the rest of my family is not going to do the same.

And of course there are more, but I want you to really take a close look at those again, and see if you can see a pattern.   Do you see it?  They all have some type of negative aspect towards eating healthy.  And that may not seem like a big deal, but I can tell you from over 20 years of experience in coaching people that it is a HUGE DEAL!  Let me just make it this simple for you and what I have seen the majority of the time:  If the mental thoughts and words associated with the person’s new eating habits are negative, then most of the time the person will end up quitting the nutrition plan.  and it usually does not matter how “good” their actions are as far as “following the diet”.  If their mindset with their thoughts and words do not change, then it wont last.  And we could go much further into why it doesnt work, but for now lets just remember that as we think, we believe, and we eventually act.  Even if we are “doing all the right actions” if we dont change the way we think and speak, then our actions will not turn into true habits and lifestyle changes.

So make sure that if you are making good efforts at better Eating, and or if you are considering it, you first and foremost learn how to literally think, speak, and “see” your new and improved healthy eating plans!  Here are some examples of how to think and speak concerning this:

I do not have to eat better, I get to eat better.

I do not have to eat better.  But I do GET TO control what I eat.

I refuse to allow food to control me.  I control food.  (even if you are eating a bag of oreos at the time, still think it and say it.  You might think this is silly but remember you are literally retraining yourself.  It starts with the way you think and speak and believe.  But most try to start with the actions and leave out the rest.  I aint gonna work!)

There is nothing that I cant have.  I can eat anything I want.  I realize thought that not just any food is going to do me good.  So I choose to eat those foods that are going to do me good.  And I refuse to allow any food to control me.  (READ 1 Corin 6:12)

I will not get into condemnation.  Even though I just ate that _______, I refuse to feel guilty, ashamed, and or fearful in any way.  I am making better choices, and that one choice does not define me and my new and improved health choices.  I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus.

And there is much more, but I think you get the point I am trying to make.  Remember, yes you have to have THE ACTIONS.  Yet the actions are not the main part.  The main part is the Faith.  you have to have the Faith not only that you can, but also that you will.  You have to “see” yourself doing it.  You have to literally make yourself think the right thoughts and say the right words.  And along the way keep applying the correct actions with the full faith that you WIN!!


What did this local business man say when I told him what we do at God-Built

It is a great day today to have a great day!  Dat right man!

I was talking with someone the other day that is a successful local business man.  He asked me what I did as a job.  So I began to tell him about God-Built and the conversation went further as he wanted to know how we approached fitness.  I told him what we did and our approach: Spirit, Soul, Body.  And i went on tell him how even though we have been teaching the same health and life principles since we opened in 2001, we are just now seeing more people open to learning more about how the spirit and soul affect health.  We particularly talked about how our thought life played a huge role in how our health is, and how it will be.  His response was something along these lines: “Yes that (our thought life) is the biggest issue I believe.”  It was a great conversation and it excited me as I have been expecting that more and more people are starting to realize this and God is going to use God-Built to help more people to take control of their health and life through teaching the principles He gave us years ago.

Here are some Reminders for you of some of these Principles that we believe are much more importtant than exercise and Nutrition for improving your health.  *No you cant leave exercise and nutrition out, as they too are important.

  • Learn more and more that HE loves you unconditionally.  He gave the ultimate sacrifice for you.
  • You have all the faith, confidence, and ability inside you, through Christ Jesus, to take control of and improve your health and any other area of life.
  • Be Thankful
  • Give to others: encouragement, help, etc
  • Stay out of Condemnation
  • Laugh (check out the video on my personal facebook thing)
  • Control your THOUGHTS AND WORDS- these are 2 of your most powerful tools you have!!
  • EAT better quality foods.  Control the quantity
  • MOVE!!  Find a way to walk, run, bike, lift weights, bodyweight resistance training, etc.  Do this 3+ times per week, even if it is only 4-5 minutes.

These are things we all know to some extent, and we all should focus on improving on 1 or more.

It’s a great day today, to have a great day!  Ye baby!

Man what a great Memorial Day weekend we had at the Johnson’s.  We had a lot of fun, time with family and friends, and relaxation this past weekend.  We took some extra time to be in prayer and just be thankful for all the people who have made the ultimate sacrifice since the beginning of this great country in order for us USA citizens to reap the benefits of living in a “FREE” country.  Nope, America is not perfect, but Yep, America is a great place to be, and me and my family are so Thankful and consider ourselves to be mighty blessed to live here.  Bam!

Spirit, Soul, Body- As part of our goal to help you to take control of your health & life, we will continuously use this order (spirit, soul, and body) as our foundation for approaching health and overall life improvement.  And taking control of our mind and our thoughts is of paramount importance in this process.  You have probably heard this from me before but it very much bears repeating:

“A massive body of research collectively shows that up to 80% of physical, emotional, and mental health issues today could be a direct result of our thought lives.”  Dr. Leaf, Who Switched Off My Brain.

I believe we all should focus on taking control of our minds and use our minds as a tool to steer our thoughts in the right direction, and therefore our health and lives in the right direction.  And yes I know you hear it here on all the time, and yes I will stay on this topic as long as needed.  My experience in health and life coaching is that most people dont realize the power they have with their minds and thoughts.  And they discount the true power and impact that there mind and thoughts have over their health and every other area of their lives.  I hear all the time “Yes I know that, but…”

Understand that God gave you your mind for 1 main reason: For YOU to Control it.  He did not mean for your mind to control you.  Yet your mind is such a powerful and precise machine, it will operate at a high level even on its own without you controlling it.  The bad thing is that if you dont control it, it will steer itself at a high level, just usually in the wrong direction.  And that is because it was made to have a master, and that master is you.  So you choose to control your mind and your thoughts.  No matter how hard it may seem sometimes, you still have the choice, and your choice will impact your health and your life either way, good or bad.

YOU Use your Mind and make it think the right thoughts.  You Use your mind and make it work for your good for better health and a better life.  You can.  He designed you to do so.  He designed your mind to be subordinate to You.  So… YOUR HEALTH, YOUR LIFE, YOUR CHOICE  God bless u kj
